EXT. OBSERVATION TOWER. JERSEY – DUSK
Two FIGURES pick their way towards us in the foreground as they sky begins to brighten.
They are dwarfed by the craggy cliff, and behind them, standing silent sentry on the cliff edge, the observation tower, windows in blackness. One of the FIGURES trips, stumbles and recovers with a mutter.
FIGURE 1
Alright?
FIGURE 2
Yeah.
They pick their way.
A scream pierces the eerie early morning calm, snapping both heads up.
FIGURE 1 cocks his head.
FIGURE 1
Fox?
FIGURE 2
Don’t think there’s foxes here?
A beat.
They continue.
Another scream. They both stop dead. Look around warily.
FIGURE 2 (CONT’D)
I know this is supposed to be romantic but its kind of …
As she turns to glance behind, our attention is drawn to the darkened windows of the observation tower as an unidentifiable light briefly illuminates the glass and –
Most certainly the white orb of a face gazing out.
And its gone.
FIGURE 2 stares behind a moment longer. Blinks.
FIGURE 1 picks his way ahead, growing impatient?
FIGURE 1 (off)
Come on!
FIGURE 2 picks up the pace, hurrying to catch him up.
As they make their way out of the frame, we hold on the dark unknown of the tower. The silence punctuated by another distant animal scream.
This is the fifth part of 10 Scenes from an Imaginary Film, a mini-project of 10 imagined scenes by 10 different artists to coincide with our last days of crowdfunding for our feature film.
