12pm-2pm, Tuesday 17 August
Delicately crafted descriptions of imaginary happenings. Photographs and audio footage from events that never took place. Everyday actions and occurrence reframed and reimagined as readymade performances. This is a workshop exploring the potential in creating imaginary performance events, strange and unusual projects that fall somewhere between theatre, conceptual art, concrete poetry and free-wheeling daydreams. Led by Tassos Stevens of acclaimed agency of adventure Coney, and Andy Field of Forest Fringe, this two hour event will take in the work of artists from John Cage and Marcel Duchamp through to Forced Entertainment’s Tim Etchells and Anthony Hampton of Rotozaza. There will also be an opportunity for participants to experiment with strategies and structures for creating their own imaginary events.
