Edinburgh 2008

About

2008 was the first year that Forest Fringe was programmed and managed by Deborah Pearson and Andy Field together, with technical assistance from James Baster and some support from Battersea Arts Centre.

This year the programme started to take a shape that would become a template for future years. Each day’s programme was headlined by the year’s resident company The Paper Cinema, who were slowly finishing a piece called The Night Flyer, which was presented alongside an older piece, a short story by Edgar Allan Poe.

Other artists involved this year included Action Hero, with an early work-in-progress of Watch Me Fall, Tinned Fingers, Chris Thorpe, Jon Spooner, Ed Rapley, Lucy Ellinson, Abigail Conway and Chris Goode, who presented a three-night anthology of experimental poetry from Allen Ginsberg’s Howl to Kurt Schwitter’s Ursonate.
